Fire up the engines!

Well, I guess it’s travel time again. This photo summarizes our trip…Montreal, New York Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, New York, Montreal….Chelsea. In 8 days. Fortunately, the switch to DST occurs the morning of our departure so, technically, it’s not 7 days and 23 hours…we need every minute in the day…specially after crossing the dateline.

I purchase the Chinese currency, the Yuan, at Accurate and, after asking the teller for about 400$ dollars worth I saw her count, and count, and count 50 and 100 Yuan bills….when she got to 1,500 Yuan I started thinking maybe a Yuan was worth 50 bucks and she thought I had said 400 Yuan…I had asked what the exchange was but her voice was muffled by the glass and I didn’t want to ask her to repeat a third time. Turns out a Yuan is worth about 16 cents….so those 100 Yuan notes are worth 16$ or so. Should be interesting….
