Serendipity

Go figure. I took a 4 or 5 dozen snaps in this photo session with the whole setup, lights and everything, then, in a fleeting moment, as I walk by the open door of the room which has no name, I spotted a moment and captured it. I don’t know what about it moves me, but somehow it’s the best, in my opinion, capture of the whole session.

Perhaps its the pregnancy of the moment…a mid-movement point in time that suggests tension or invites some conjecture about purpose and intent. Its the ambiguity of the pose that allows the viewer to offer interpretation, in spite of the incongruity of the background. In any case, its unintended, unrehearsed and totally natural despite its apparent appearance of being posed.

Sadly, its unusable, in my opinion, because of the background. I could isolate the background and remove it, I suppose, but that feels like cheating on a grand scale. Still, it remains, in my books, a great capture of a moment in time. Right time, wrong place.
